Pickleball was invented in 1965 on Bainbridge Island, Washington.
Pickleball was invented in the summer of 1965 on Bainbridge Island, Washington. It was invented by Joel Pritchard, Bill Bell, and Barney McCallum. They used a badminton net and over the course of a weekend, experimenting with changes to the game, they came up with what is now unarguably the best sport ever invented (don't argue - it's a fact).

A few years later, the first permanent pickleball court was built at Pritchard's neighbor's house, Bob O'Brian. And the rest is history.
